Marjorie Brook, LMT

International Therapist, Author, Educator, & Creator of the S.T.R.A.I.T Method™

Marjorie Brook is one of the most sought-after therapists and dynamic instructors in the manual therapy world today.

Leaving the high-pressure, low-fulfillment world of network news and television, Marjorie found her calling in health and wellness. “I got into broadcasting to make documentaries that made a difference. But once news started turning into entertainment (I left during the OJ era) it was time to find a new path. I literally quit and went on vacation in Alaska. I hiked up a mountain and once at the top I looked out at the incredible vista and asked the Universe – what now? The answer was clear. When I returned home, I walked into the local massage school and never looked back,” Marjorie.

How Marjorie Approaches Treatment

During every session, Marjorie Brook draws on nearly three decades of human physiology and movement expertise, enriched by her background as a martial artist and personal trainer. Her approach goes beyond physical symptoms, addressing the mental and emotional factors that often contribute to pain, disease, and injury.

Recognized for her ability to tackle even the most complex and challenging cases, Marjorie has earned a global reputation as a trusted therapist. Her deep understanding of scar tissue, injury, and disease led her to innovate and refine proven therapeutic techniques, culminating in the creation of the S.T.R.A.I.T. Method™. This groundbreaking system provides targeted relief from the trauma caused by scar tissue and fascial restrictions, offering clients a path to lasting healing and improved well-being.

Forever the innovator, Marjorie began blending some of the most proven and successful therapeutic techniques, eventually developing her system for alleviating the trauma caused by scar tissue and fascial restrictions, The S.T.R.A.I.T. Method™.

Marjorie has created a beautifully peaceful, safe, private environment to aid her clients in the healing process. Complete medical histories are taken, medical reports reviewed and in-depth conversations with the client (they are heard) take place before any hands-on occurs.

Sessions are purposely scheduled with space between them so there is no overlap between clients. There is no rush to get in and out, and the clients do not come into contact with each other. The focus is on the person on the table, not the clock or the next client coming in.

“To be healthy, you need to understand how the body works. Knowledge is power and with it you can achieve anything.”

Marjorie Brook Seminars

I founded Brook Seminars in 2007 after working for a decade as a nationally recognized massage therapist, with my own private practice on Long Island, NY.

My long-term vision was to fundamentally transform the way in which therapists practice bodywork. I yearned to enhance the lives of patients by demonstrating how to effectively diminish pain. I knew that the lives of those with a limited range of motion — resulting from poor posture, injury, scarring, and medical disorders — could be enriched with a combination of massage therapy, scar tissue release techniques, Integrated Therapeutic Stretching™ (I.T.S), and proper body mechanics.

Since then, my vision has become a full-blown reality. I’ve had the opportunity to instruct continuing education courses on my Scar Tissue Release and Integrated Therapies (S.T.R.A.I.T Method™) all over the world.

I’ve completed live interviews with numerous radio blogs and had two series of stretching manuals published — which have been adopted by a multitude of health-care practitioners and health-oriented individuals.

My passion for teaching is most often rewarded when the potential impact of my techniques hits home — I’ve witnessed many “Ah ha” moments as students realize the positive implications for their patients and themselves.

Oh, and laughter is not only endorsed, it’s a requirement in the classroom.

I lecture audiences globally on the importance of finding mind-body balance and, in addition to my work with Brook Seminars I run my own private massage therapy practice. I designed the latter to be a haven from the pressures of day-to-day life and use it as a platform to encourage people to take time out for themselves.

More About Marjorie

I believe that life is fleeting and everyone deserves the opportunity to live it to the fullest.

I do my utmost to notice the beauty in every mud puddle — and I actively admire those who persevere against the odds.

I think that laughter really is the best medicine — that, and chocolate.

I get my kicks from hiking, walking my dogs, and having my husband (my very own Fred Astaire) whisk me around a dance floor.

At the end of a long day, I love nothing more than taking time out to meditate in my hammock — usually with The Eagles playing in the background.
